I’m One of the muses, A common wood nymph roaming around Parnassus, Happy with my little sweet pea. With her delicate, fragrant flowers Carried on long, slim stalks, She captivated me. I ran to her flaming with desire. I am flaming. Burning Blazing with desire. Too hot for my sweet pea. Because she’s so delicate, So delicate for me. As I touch her, she transformed into ashes. I burnt her. And out of a haze, you were formed. Like smoke given out by fire. A fireweed that sprang up in the burnt over area. A replacement, I thought. You quenched my thirst. Suffuse my hunger. My desire. I came to you for a crown And you gave me a kingdom. You made me eat on a golden plate And drink from your cup of diamonds. But like a common pitcher plant, Cut your base open And there you’ll find my body’s remains trapped inside. A pitfall in the middle of the forest. I will name you Venus? The goddess with a seducing brilliant red trap. Open to all beings that needs nurturing. Show your bosom and all will crave for your milk. From a butterfly, you turned me to an ant. When I brushed only slightly against your skin, You closed within an instant. Rigid spines on the margins of you blades interlock tightly. As soon as I was trapped, You digested me. Used me as a nutrient material. I know this is about to last for only a week. By the time your leaf reopens, You’ll be reedy for other sufferers. Trapped inside, I accepted my fate. Then there she came one spring day. My little delicate sweet pea. Now a spring beauty in full bloom. A low perennial herb. With narrow, succulent leaves And loose cluster of white and pink flowers. But your leaf has closed. I cannot escape.

“I lied to you. We already finished cleaning yesterday… Are you ready to hear my secrets?” Maki asked, still looking at the fountain in front of them.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Every one was happy inside their room. Yasuda and Abe sensei organized a Christmas party for the grade 6-A today for tomorrow will be the official start of their Christmas vacation. It’s their treat also for the varsity team. They invited Ayumi, Masae Hitomi and Miki in their room although their in section B.

“I hope that you ordered more cakes… I think those two will devour all of the sweet foods available.” Abe told Yasuda while she pointed at Nono and Aibon, greedily eating their food on one corner.

“It’s alright, let them eat everything till their stomachs’ bursts open… Christmas comes only once a year… And I may not see them next year… Maybe they’ll go to a different school after graduation.”

“You’re right. I’ll miss the teasing of those two.” Abe sighed. It will be the last year that she will be handling the best players she ever had in her 5 years of stay in that school. Yasuda also sighed. She handled this section as a proxy adviser when their grade 5 teacher died in an accident. Ever since then, she came to love this section.

……..
“Oi! You’re depleting our resources fast! Think of other people like us who wanted to taste them also!” Sayu growled. In contrast to her fragile and thin body, she was an eater. Eri and Reina were pretty envious of their friend. Though she eats a lot, she never gained weight..

“You’re just too slow to get one… Now that’s it’s gone… you’ll blame it on us?” Aibon answered while licking the chocolate flavored creampuff, making Sayu angrier.

“How will I get one when the TWO OF YOU TOOK THEM ALL!!!!”

Eri came to the rescue… “Don’t shout at them… Here… I’ve managed to take three. I’ll give them to you if you want.”

“Hontou?! Thanks! Oh I really love you!!!” Sayu hugged her friend. Nono and Aibon’s eye sparkle with mischief. They were ready to ‘monomane’ their classmates’ gesture when…

“Don’t get the wrong idea there…OK? The three of us loves each other… just like the two of you loves each other…” Reina gave them a glare. Nono and Aibon sighed with defeat and went back on ravishing their foods.

“I’m gonna miss their antics after graduation…” Maki suddenly blurted out.

“Oh yeah… I haven’t had a chance to ask this to you before but, where are you going to move?” Rika asked. Sadness was clearly seen on her face.

“Tokyo… But it’s still tentative… My mom will finalize it after Christmas.” Maki replied.

“Oh….. Speaking of Christmas... My parents approved me to stay with your family. We will go to the shrine first… and after it, I can sleep over in your house… IS your mom ok with that?”

“Duh… She was the one who asked me to invite you this Christmas….” Maki laughed and Rika followed.

“You’re really a good chef…” Rika said after eating the special Okonomiyaki that Maki cooked.

“Well, Yasuda needed some help and she knew that I can cook well… That’s why she borrowed me for a while.” Rika noticed that Maki’s eyes were somewhat red from tiredness. She guessed that she woke up really early that day for this occasion.

“It’s good that you’re the one who cooked some of our foods today. At least we tasted your cooking… It’s delicious..” Reina said while eating some of the Okonomiyaki that Maki cooked.

“Thanks… and by the way… can I talk with you privately?” Maki winked at Reina.

“Why would you want to talk with her alone? I want to hear it too…” Rika said in a sulking tone.

“Though I want too, it’s a secret between the two of us… But when the right time comes, I’ll tell it to you also.” Maki assured Rika before pushing Reina to a far corner of the room.

“So… I guess this is about our conversation on the amusement park right?” Reina started.

“Yeah… can I ask an itsy-bitsy favor from you?”

“….Shoot…”

“Our Christmas party will end at 3 in the afternoon… I want the three of you to invite Rika to any place and hold her there till 6 in the evening…”

“Ok… and what will happen after 6?”

“Leave her at the park near the fountain… then, you can go home by that time.” Maki sheepishly smiled.

“I guess, you’ll give her your gift by that time right?... Sounds like a good plan. I’ll tell it to those two…” Reina somewhat had an idea on what Maki will do. The lights on the fountain will open at 6 and it creates a somewhat romantic atmosphere. The water and the light looks like its dancing to a mellow tune which makes any passersby to marvel at its beauty.
Reina immediately run towards her two best friends while Maki went back to Rika.

“What did you tell her?” Rika’s right eye brow arched. She also crossed her hands to her chest to prove a point.

“Hmmm… Secret… I can’t tell it right now… Maybe later or tomorrow..”

“Hidoi…”

…………
“Eh? Why are you leaving me here?” Rika was astonished at what her friends said. Earlier, they invited her to join them to sing in a karaoke bar… and then they went window shopping. It’s already 6 in the evening and the sky was already dark then suddenly her friends wanted her to stay ALONE near the fountain.

“We’ll just get our ‘gift’ for you… It’s a surprise…” Sayu winked at the two..

“I get that point… My question is WHY do you want me to stay here alone? Two of you can get the gift… then one of you will stay here with me…” Rika explained.

“Ano… It’s so heavy that it takes the three of us to carry it here.” Eri said but her voice was somewhat stuttering. She could not think of other good ideas.

“If it’s heavy, take me there so that you don’t need to carry it here..” Rika said.

“Sorry, but you MUST stay here alone… You need not to worry… We’ll be back in a flash…” With this, Reina pushed her two friends and ran away from Rika.

“MATTE!!!”... Rika didn’t bother to follow her three fleeing friends. She was suddenly amazed when the fountain lit up and the water seemed like it was dancing in tune to the changing lights.

“You like it?” Rika looked towards the owner of the voice and was surprised to see Maki beside her.

“What are you doing here? I thought you will help your mother to clean your house… Are you already finished?”

“I lied to you…” Maki sheepishly smiled at her.

“Ehh?” that was Rika’s only response. She had no idea what Maki was talking about

“I lied to you. We already finished cleaning yesterday… Are you ready to hear my secrets?” Maki asked, still looking at the fountain in front of them.

“H.. hai…”

Belly Touching

3/25/2008
(More details! Douzo!)

This one shot is based primarily with my experience during our review class, though, it's more of me-touching-my-pregnant-classmate-to-feel-the-baby thing than a hungry stomach... Read and laugh.XD

It’s a hot, Saturday morning. People enjoyed the benefits of air-conditioned malls during this time. They just look around, enjoying the free cold air of the store. Others were buying cold drinks or a cup of ice cream which can help equalize the heat that they are feeling. For those people with enough money, a trip to the beach will be enough to sooth their warm bodies. The cool, calming sea water and the relaxing view was enough to forget the high temperature of the day.

“Goto!”

“I will need to pack lots of soda… and a beach ball… and I’ll invite Rika, Hitomi… Miki…

“Stand up, Goto!”

“Is someone calling me?” Reina stepped on Maki’s right foot. Maki almost screamed in pain. She noticed her teacher’s fierce eyes looking straight at her. She immediately stood up.

“Can you explain to me the procedure on how to bake a chiffon cake?” Nakazawa asked harshly. Maki smiled inwardly. She liked baking a lot. Her hobby started when she was only 7 years old. It’s a piece of cake for her to say the procedure, along with the scientific basis. She explained what her teacher wanted to hear from her and Nakazawa seemed like she’s convinced on her answer.

“Very good, Ms. Goto! Now, let’s proceed on food preservation.” Maki sat down, smiling.

“You’re lucky that it’s your favourite subject.” Reina whispered. Maki smiled at her. She was ‘somewhat’ glad that her classmate brought her back from her day dream. The only thing that she didn’t like is the way that Reina woke her up.

“Yeah…” Maki sighed. She’s bored to death right now. While her family members were having fun on the beach, she had to remain in their school for their review classes for their upcoming national test.
” Damn this review…. If not for the clearance… I won’t attend this one..”
Maki’s thoughts were distracted when her stomach grumbled. Reina almost laughed at what she heard.

“You’re hungry now? There’s still an hour before our lunch time.” Maki smiled shyly at her friend. She woke up late this morning that’s why she forgot to eat her breakfast.

“I didn’t eat breakfast. I woke up late.”

“So… that explains why your stomach’s really loud this time.” Reina whispered, careful not to let their fierce teacher see that they were not listening to her anymore.

“Yeah… I could eat a whole chicken as soon as the bell…….” Maki’s stomach grumbled again without letting her finish her sentence first. Reina pretended that she’s reading her book but the truth is; she’s trying to suppress her laugh while hiding from Nakazawa’s keen eyes.

“Laugh all you want… I don’t care at all.” Maki said stoically.

“Gomen… It’s really….” Reina was surprised when Maki got her left hand and placed it inside her shirt, right on to her stomach.

“You’re laughing because you don’t have any idea what I am feeling right now. Now can you feel it?” Reina focused all her senses on Maki’s bare stomach. She looked at Maki’s eyes when she felt the ‘grumble’.

“See?”

“Woah… I pity your stomach… If only it can tell what it feels, it will be” Reina tried to imitate a high pitched voice. “please let us eat something or we’ll destroy it!” Maki giggled at the voice that Reina produced.

“You sounded like a small rat.” Both of them laughed at the same time.

“What are you doing there?” Nakazawa roared. Reina was frozen but Maki was able to think of a nice loophole.

“Reina was just asking the difference between the curing salt and phosphate.”

“I’m glad that the two of you were listening… But please, minimize your noise!”

“Hai!” The two answered back. Unknowingly, Reina’s hand was still inside Maki’s shirt.

…………….
“Risa look, they’re doing something!” Ai whispered on her best friend. Risa looked at the direction where Ai was pointing.

“And I thought both of them were straight.”

“Woah, those two were brave. Doing things like that in during class hours.” Miki whispered.

“As if were not doing it too.” Aya answered back. Miki grinned at her lover.

“Maki never mentioned this to me… How come?” Hitomi asked herself but it was loud enough for her seatmate to hear.

“You know, there are things that even your best friend needs to hide from you.” Rika explained.

“Why? I don’t understand it… We’re supposed to be best friends. Why didn’t she tell me that she liked Reina?”

“Ano… did you tell her about us?” Rika eyed her. Hitomi looked up and thought for a while.

“No… Not yet…”

“Eri? Are you alright? You’re in a trance again. You’re really strange.” Sayumi waved her hands in front of Eri’s face.

“I’m watching something… Don’t disturb me…”

“What are you watching?” Sayumi followed Eri’s line of view and saw one of her best friend, giggling while her hands were inside her seatmate’s shirt.

“I’m envious…” Sayumi grabbed Eri’s hand and put it inside her shirt too. The other one didn’t seem to notice what her best friend did as she was busy (probably her consciousness was floating over the skies again) watching Reina and Maki.

The two involved were rather oblivious of the penetrating eyes around them, and the story that their classmates formulated. And it all started from Maki’s growling stomach.

Love Struck Cupid

2/14/2008
(More details! Douzo!)

I didn't know what went through my mind for me to write this not-so-happy-ending fic about Valentine's Day. (probably because I'm a member of NBSB, No Boyfriend Since Birth Lol!! Hahaha). Anyways, enjoy reading! Happy Valentine's Day Minna!!!

There was once a lovely cupid who always comes down from heaven as February approaches. This cupid was the one responsible for increasing the number of couples during that period. This cupid was named as the cupid of mischief. She always targets incompatible couples; cute guy, ugly girl. Tall girl, short guy. Another thing that she’s fond of doing during this time was to partner a guy to a guy and a girl to a girl.

“Are you sure you’re my best friend? Because best friends don’t betray each other!”

“Oh yeah?! It was you who betrayed me first!”

“Get a life Miki! I HATE YOU! I don’t want to see you ever again!!!”

The cupid watched happily as the two girls bicker at each other. She was having fun at the scene this two were making. When she saw that they were going to go away, she aimed her arrows and shot at them. The aura of the two changed suddenly.

“I’m sorry Aya, I was really stupid. Forgive me.”

“No, it was me who’s supposed to say sorry to you.”

The cupid, feeling satisfied, flew to another place. She saw a well known personality giving a Valentine’s Day concert in the park. She decided to play another trick on the unsuspecting victim. After the concert, she held an autograph signing and pictorial session. The cupid decided to shot her arrows of love on the celebrity and to the little girl who’s asking her autograph.

“You’re my idol! I really love… I mean… like you Maki.”

“What’s your name?”

“Tanaka Reina.”

“Meet me at the backstage later. I’ll treat you for dinner.”

There’s no force, both from heaven or earth that can stop this playful cupid. That is the truth, until the day she saw someone.

The other cupids call her ‘Hitomi’ for she always has an ‘eye’ for weird couples. She was wondering around the earth during the Valentine’s Day when she saw a girl standing alone near the Sakura trees. The cupid immediately fell in love with her beguiling eyes. She followed the girl where ever she went. She learned that the girl’s name was Rika. A cupid must never fall in love with a mortal. That’s their general rule which this mischievous cupid was willing to defy.

She positioned herself in front of the girl, aimed her arrows and shot Rika’s heart. She smiled as the arrow of ‘love-at-first-sight penetrated her heart. Hitomi summoned her powers to become visible immediately. Rika saw a beautiful winged person in front of her. From Hitomi’s perspective, the girl didn’t seem that she’s afraid of her.

“Are you an angel?”

“Somewhat like that… I’m a cupid.”

“Ohh. I guess it’s a hard job right? Forcing other people fall in love with each other even though they’re not really meant for each other.”

Hitomi was struck at what Rika said. Something’s wrong. Her arrows should have taken effect any minute now. She was surprised when Rika smiled at her to say goodbye.

“I wish people would just fall in love naturally with out the help of other beings. If that’s the case, the world will become a pleasant place for the people living here are experiencing true and everlasting love.” Rika smiled and waved goodbye to the cupid. Hitomi was left agape.

That day, Hitomi returned to the heavens with a sad heart. She kept thinking what Rika said to her. A cupid approached her when she noticed that their usual laughing Hitomi returned with a gloomy face.

“What happened?”

“I met a beautiful person… I fell in love with her.. But my arrows didn’t have an effect on her.”

“What’s the name of that person?”

“Rika.”

“That’s Akir, the fallen cupid. She forced someone to fall in love with her before by using her arrow of infatuation. Akir was stripped off of her powers and was made a mortal. They were happy for a couple of months until the guy replaced her with a beautiful lady. She’s really repenting what she had done.”

Hitomi listened intently on the story. She made a promise that day; she’ll never play with the mortal’s heart ever again.

Link: Final Chapter

6/26/2007
(More details! Douzo!)

After many months, I was able to finish my Maki-Reina fic. I hope you like the ending. As usual, Red is for Reina and Blue for Maki. XD

Chapter 8: Thread of Fate

November 27, 2004

Reina was very excited that day that she arrived in the said meeting place an hour earlier. She even called Maki that morning to ask some advice on what she should wear. There are many people looking at her. She knew that they may recognize her as a girl from Morning Musume. But Maki’s idea seemed to be working well. She told Reina to pretend that she’s only cosplaying “Reina Tanaka”. That way, no body will bother her while waiting for Toma to arrive.

“It’s 2 pm! I wonder what she looks like. I hope she will recognize me. I did tell her about my Yankee fashion.”

The heat of the sun hurts her skin but she didn’t want to go to the shade. It’s thirty minutes past two and still, no sign of Toma. Even if her legs are hurting, she didn’t leave that place.

“I mustn’t leave. Toma may come anytime soon.” She just got her cd player and listened to Maki’s songs. She was glad that she was chosen to join Morning Musume; otherwise, it would be impossible to meet her idol… and to be close to her. She was so hooked to the music that she didn’t realized that an hour has passed already.

“I wonder what happened to her? I’m really excited about our meeting. I want to see her personally.” Reina decided to stay for another hour. But after almost an hour and a half of waiting, someone came…

“Reina? What are you doing here?”

“Miki! I was just… ahh… Standing here… to see whether people will be able to recognize me.” She couldn’t look to Miki’s eyes. She was somewhat ‘scared’ of Miki’s glare.

“You’re not a good liar, are you? I could see that you’re waiting for someone… And for a long time now.”

“Ho…how did you know?” Reina was puzzled. Does Miki’s glare is some sort of x-ray eyes that can read people’s minds? How was she able to tell it?

“It’s easy! You’re skin is baked from the heat of the sun. And besides, Aya and I are eating in that restaurant for an hour now. She wanted you to join us that’s why I approached you.” Miki pointed to the waving Aya in the restaurant.

“Is that so? Thank you for your concern but I’m going now. I have to go someplace else.” Reina said while bowing to Miki and to Aya’s direction. It’s not a lie though. She had to go to that place. She had to talk to someone… If that someone will answer her call. She strode past Miki and called a taxi.

She immediately went to the elevator when she had gotten inside the building. And for the first time, the elevator seemed to understand where she wants to be. It went directly up the 13th floor. Reina opened the transceiver and tried to call the person she’s supposed to meet.

“Toma… Toma… Are you there?”

…………

…………

“Toma, if you’re there please answer me!”
Reina said sounding somewhat irritated.

…………
…………

“To…”

“Reika, is that you?”

Yes it’s me…. Why didn’t you show up at our meeting place?”

“I should be the one asking you that…”

“Nani? My feet really hurt right now because of waiting for you to come! I didn’t move an inch from that place for you to be able to spot me. But then I’ve waited for you for almost 3 hours... But YOU, didn’t show up!” Reina almost shouted that last sentence. She felt betrayed and hurt.

“That was a good joke… I was also there, right next to the entrance for almost 3 hours to. I too, didn’t move an inch from that place event though it’s raining very hard. I’m soaking wet right now. But I immediately went here to call you.” Maki stressed out the last part but her voice sounded rather sarcastic.

“YOU”RE A LIAR!!! I was almost sun burnt by the heat of the sun!! And you tell me its raining?”

“Our meeting place is here in Tokyo right? And the weather forecast today in Tokyo is that there will be some strong rain showers in the afternoon. I just forgot to bring my umbrella with me today.”

Uso… Miki even told me that my skin is already brown for waiting in the sun for too long.”

“Miki? Who the heck is Miki?”
“Hey, if you’re scared to meet me, just tell me so that you won’t lie.”

“I’m not lying! Maybe you’re the one who’s lying really bad!”

“You told me that you’re idol is Maki Goto, right? Maki doesn’t like liars so take this advice from me, stop lying right now!”

“How do you know how Maki will feel when she sees me? You don’t know anything about her or me!”

“Trust me; I know everything about her… I know her MUCH more than you could know… Because my real name is MAKI GOTO.”

“Ma…ki..?”

“You’re surprised right? It’s true. I’m Maki Goto... The third generation member of Morning Musume. I wanted to tell you right away but thank goodness I haven’t. Now I know your true color.”

“Uso… Maki… Maki’s my friend… No, she treats me more than a friend…”

“What are you saying? I didn’t even meet you.”

“I was soaking wet that afternoon because it was raining really hard. I called her again. She said she’s the one waiting for me…And she even told me that I was such a bad liar: that her skin almost turned brown because of the sun’s rays. I can’t believe that the person is really my fan. I guess she turned chicken when she saw that the one she’s supposed to meet is me and she just made that lie.”

“Ca… can.. you tell me… what’s the date today?” Reina asked. She must know the truth. Maki’s mail last night and what happened to her today seems to coincide with each other..

“Oh, so you now have amnesia… The date today is November 27, 1999 and its Saturday.”

That can't be! The date today is November 27, 2004…” Reina drop the receiver. When she’s going to pick it up, she noticed something she should have noticed a long time ago.

“Impossible! The transceiver’s not even connected to the line? How come it’s still working then?”

She then heard the familiar sound coming from the elevator. She ran as fast as she could to it without even saying any words to the person on the other line. She was shaking as the elevator descended to the ground floor. As the door opened she saw the person she’s been dying to see right now. She needs to patch up things with her… Things that supposed to be patched up before if she didn’t ran away. She now understood that she was the one responsible why that person has sad eyes and a far away look whenever she’s alone.

“Reina? What happened? I thought you’re going to meet someone in the Puchinka Tower?”

Reina broke down into tears. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry…. I’m really sorry!”

“Why are you telling me that?... That person didn’t show up? It’s ok. I’m here. Don’t cry.” Maki hugged Reina. She was feeling sorry for the girl.
“So, it did happen to you too. It’s painful isn’t it?”

“I’m sorry… I made you like that… I was to blame… If I didn’t ran away during our conversation… You wouldn’t be like that: sad but pretending that it doesn’t matter. Pretending to be strong even though it hurts.”

“Ehh? What conversation? What the heck are you saying?”

Reina looked straight into Maki’s eyes. “The person I was supposed to meet today is a girl nicknamed Toma… I knew her from the transceiver on the 13th floor.”

“Uso…. That means... You're Reika?”

Chapter 7: Hidden Past

6/24/2007
(More details! Douzo!)

Hehehe. I just finished another chapter! One more and this series will be finished. But I have another series coming up. I had the idea already but the characters were not finalized yet. Hope you like this chap.!XD

Chapter 7: Hidden Past
It’s already 2 in the morning but Reina couldn’t sleep at all. When she got her keitai back and joined the dining girls at the restaurant, she saw that they had invited Maki to join them.

“You look rather excited tonight. Did something happen?”

“I guess you could call that. I’m meeting someone on Saturday.”

“EEEHHH?!?” Maki’s mouth was quickly covered by Reina’s hand. The other girls didn’t seem to care about them. They were enjoying how Miki and Yossie fought on the last piece of A grade yakiniku with the chopsticks.

“They’re fighting like kids!” Mari commented.
“Don’t fight over that piece of beef, we can order another one!” Abe called out to them.

Reina let go of Maki’s mouth after seeing that no one heard them.

“Who are you going to meet?”

Reina didn’t want to lie to Maki. She wanted to tell her everything: about the 13th floor, about the old transceiver and about a new found friend, Toma.

“I’m just going to meet a friend. We’ve known each other through the phone.” Reina told Maki. It was somewhat like that. She just removed the fact that she knew that person from the transceiver on the 13th floor. Maki might think that she’s some kind of a weirdo.

“Is it a guy or a girl?”

“Girl.”

“Have you already seen her?”

“Not yet.” Reina listened carefully to the tone of Maki’s voice. There was a tinge of sadness or jealousy on her tone.

“And you’re willing to meet up with her?”

“Hai! She was friendly and my instinct tells me that she will not do anything that will harm me.” She looked straight into Maki’s eyes. She knew that the other is only worried about her that’s why she’s asking those questions.

“How could you tell that? It’s only through the phone that you knew each other. There are many people out there that only want to deceive others. You may be the victim in the end. Though your perception of her is good, still, you cannot let your guard down.” Maki looked like she was deeply hurt by something. But as always, she just hides what she feels.

“I know because I could feel that she’s good. I don’t care whether you want to believe me or not. I’m still going this Saturday. I don’t want you to worry about me. I’m not a kid anymore. Goodbye!” Reina stood up and got her bag.

“Where are you going?” Eri asked her friend.

“Ano… Gomen ne, I have many things to do at home. I’ll be leaving now.” She took one last look at Maki who’s looking at the different direction and left.

“AHHH!!! Baka… Baka… BAKA!!! She’s only worried about you and then you said that stupid answer without thinking whether you’re hurting her feelings.”
Reina put her pillow on her face to minimize the noise created by her scream. She looked again at the clock on her table.

“2:30… Is she still awake? Would I call her to say that I’m sorry? If I did that, would she answer my call? What if I just mailed her? AHHHH!! This is so frustrating!!”
Reina reach out to her cell phone.

Hi! It’s me… Sorry about the incident… I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.

“Ahhh!!! It’s so lame! I don’t know where to start.”

Maki, I’m sorry. I just wanted to meet that person. If you’re worried about me, you could come along.

“What the hell am I thinking? Maki’s really busy; she wouldn’t have time to come with me. And why did I think that she’s worried about me? Maybe she’s not. Maybe that’s what I want to hear from her. Maybe it’s just my imagination…”

Reina screamed on her pillow again. This time, the scream mixed with the sound of her phone ringing. She looked at the name… She wasn’t expecting this to happen. It was clearly her fault, but Maki’s the first one who’s calling her…

“I’m not ready for this! What should I tell her? Should I apologize right away? What if she didn’t want to hear it? What if she’s calling right now to end our friendship? What should I do? Should I answer her? This is really getting on my nerves…”

Just as Reina was about to answer the phone, the ringing stopped.

“There goes my opportunity to say sorry. You’re so stupid!!! What if she thinks that I’m still angry at her?”

Her remorse didn’t last for a long time. There was a message on her phone from Maki.

“You must be asleep at this time. Sorry to bother you. And about the incident, I’m really sorry. I guess I was just afraid that you will get hurt in the end… I once experienced it when I decided to met up with this girl when I was new in Morning Musume. What I felt back then were the same as what you said to me in the restaurant. I was deeply hurt when she did not arrive. I’ve waited for her for about 3 hours.”

Reina waited… She knew another message will come. Now, she understands what Maki feels. She now knows that Maki really did care for her. Her line of thinking was interrupted when the 2nd message arrived.

Reina’s having second doubts about her meeting on Saturday. What if the person she’s going to meet didn’t show up? Will she feel bad about it? Another message came up.

“I never talked to her again. It was hard, really. She ran away on my last call. Ever since then, I can’t contact her anymore. I guess our ‘link’ just broke up. I hope you understand why I acted like that earlier. I’m sorry. If you still want to meet her up, it’s ok with me. Whatever happens… Be strong. Always remember that I’m here for you. Even if I have a busy schedule, just give me a call and I’ll be there for you. Sleep well, my little angel.

Reina read Maki’s message over and over again. She now understood Maki deeper. Maybe she acted cool and hard to approach because she was afraid to be hurt again by the people she thought as a friend. Reina slept with a smile on her face. She will call Maki the moment she wakes up tomorrow.

Chapter 6: De Ja Vu

6/23/2007
(More details! Douzo!)

After a long break. I've finally posted my continuation of my Maki-Reina fic. I will use some color coding again. Blue for Maki and Red for Reina. Italic words mean that the character is thinking that. Hope you enjoy this!
Chapter 6: De ja vu

Nov. 23, 2004

The taping for that day, ended late. It’s around 9 in the evening and the girls decided to eat dinner together outside.

“Let’s go to a Yakiniku restaurant!!!” Miki beamed.

“You know, if you continue eating yakiniku everyday, you’ll going to look like one.”

“Hahaha! Nice try Yossie! That isn’t going to piss me of. Was that based from your experience?” Miki sarcastically laugh.

Yossie was about to answer her when Reina told them to go ahead first.

“I forgot my keitai in the studio. Don’t wait for me; I’ll just mail you so I will know which restaurant are you in, Ja!” Before the girls had the time to answer her, Reina ran as fast as she could inside the building.

“Off all the things that I could have forgotten, it’s my cell phone. Maki might be worried if she mailed me and then I didn’t reply. I hope it’s still there in the studio.”

She entered the elevator and quickly pressed the floor where the studio was but, that floor already passed and the elevator had not shown any signs of stopping. The lights suddenly went black but the elevator kept on moving upwards.

Nani? Power failure? It can’t be! I can still feel the elevator moving. Could it be that it’s happening again?”

Her guess was right. As soon as the lights went back, she saw that the 13th floor marker is lit. She stood frozen for a second. She knew pressing the button wouldn’t do any good.

“I guess I have to walk in the dark now. What an unlucky day for me not to bring my flashlight pen. I’ll just go to that room again. Maybe she’s on the other line too… I hope.”

Slowly she made her way towards the room she was once in. The darkness of the floor didn’t scare her at all. She wanted to talk to that person again. Something in that person bothers her… A lot. She seems that she know that person before. It’s like when a mother and a long lost child met for the first time. Even if they do not know each other, they can feel it inside their hearts; they have some sort of connection binding them. That’s what she feels about that girl named Toma. Her Toma-chan. She would ask her if they could meet up.

She arrived inside the room. The transceiver’s still there. She switched it on and heard the same, static sounds.

“I hope she’s on the other line…”

“Hello? Is someone on the other line?”

She waited for quit some time for the answer.

“Hi! It’s me, Reika. Toma-chan, are you there?”

"I guess she’s not there. I guess I should check whether the elevator’s back already.”

“Hi, Reika-chan! How are you?”

Reina could hear the other breathing heavily

“Toma-chan, what happened to you? Are you alright?”

“Hai. I’m alright, I ran here as soon as I heard your voice that’s why I’m out of breath.”

“I’m sorry I made you ran.”

“No, its ok. I kind of liked talking to you.”

“Me too. By the way, I would like to meet such a friendly person like you. If it’s fine with you?”

“Sure! I’m free on the 27th. Are you still in Tokyo?”

“Yeah… Uhmm, 27th that’s on Saturday right? We have a practice on the morning but I’m free on the afternoon.”

“So it’s settled then. Let’s meet up near the entrance of Puchinka Tower at downtown Tokyo. Maybe at around 2pm, is that ok with you?”

“Sure… And… Don’t get surprised when you meet me.”

“…. Why?”

“It’s because… I… I’m not from this world… I’m a monster, hehehe.”
“And should I saw a very cute monster in Morning Musume”

“Oh, really? Well, that’s great! I’ve finally met another monster in this world. I’m a water monster in reality.”
“I should have said a yoghurt monster instead.”

“Then we’ll get along really well! Let’s have a feast and eat some human beings”

“Yeah! Especially if we meet some Momusu members. I’ve heard they’re tasty.”

“You’re right… They sure are tasty. I want to eat Goto Maki… She’s my idol you know.”

“Yeah… Maki…”
Maki trailed of.
“What would be her reaction if she saw that the Toma-chan she knows and Maki, her idol is the same? I guess our little meeting is like an idol-fan meeting. But I want to know her deeper than that."

Both of them heard the sound of the elevator opening.

“So, let’s see each other on Saturday. I guess, it’s pretty easy to spot me. I have some kind of a Yankee fashion.”

“I’ll bear that in mind. I’m looking forward to see you on Saturday. Take care, Ja!”

“Ja! Mata ne.”

I think this will be my last post for march... This is my continuation of my Maki-Reina fic. Please enjoy!
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN MOMUSU. :)

Chapter 5: Intuition

Many days passed after the 13th floor incident. Reina used that same elevator almost ten times per day, whether she’s with her friends, with other passengers or simply by herself but nothing weird happened. All she knows is that she’s been enjoying every minute that she’s in that building and being a part of Morning Musume because…

“Maki-san!”

“Osoi yo…”

“Gomen ne, our choreographer made us stay a little bit longer because Sayu had a hard time getting the steps right.”

“It’s ok. It’s just that I’ve ordered ramen for you and I think it’s not that warm now.”

“Oh, thank you!” Reina sat down, got her chopsticks and attacked the ramen. “It’s still edible so I’ll still eat it whether it’s warm or not.”

They didn’t talk much while they ate their lunch. After eating, Reina asked Maki about something that still bothers her till now.

“Ano…Maki-san, can I ask you something?”

“Shoot” Maki said after finishing her green tea.

“Uhmm, what did you see in me?”

Maki was surprised at Reina’s question. She looked at Reina, “What do you mean by that?”

“I just observed that you are not that talkative when you are with the other members. It feels like you’re a different person whenever you’re with me.”

Maki leaned back on her chair, closed her eyes and….
“I don’t know either.”

Reina wasn’t expecting that kind of answer. “I beg your pardon?”

“I said, I don’t know either. I can’t explain what I’m feeling whenever I’m with you. It fells like I’ve known you somewhere…somehow, before.”

It feels like I’ve known you before
“Now, where did I heard that line before?”

“Me too”
“What me too?” Maki looked at Reina.

“ I… I too feel that I’ve been close to you before. At first, I think it’s just pure idolization that I’m feeling but… I don’t know… I can’t put it into words. All I know, and I’m sure of, is that I’m really happy whenever I’m spending some time with you.”

Both smiled as they looked at each others eyes. They know they had a mutual understanding that even science can’t explain… An understanding that they didn’t know, developed in the 13th floor of the building they sometimes call, their second home.

Chapter 4: Friends

Nov. 15, Monday

Reina went to the studio earlier than usual. When she was about to press the button of the elevator, she stopped.

“Wouldn’t it go to that floor again?... And if it did, Will she be there again to talk to me?”

Her forefinger was about to touch the button when…

“BOO!!!”

“AAAHHHHH!!!!” Reina jumped and turned around to see the person who frightened her.

“Ahhh!!!! Goto-san! You almost gave me a heart attack! I’m still young to die…”

“I’m sorry… I didn’t know that you were a scaredy cat… And please, how many times will I tell you not to call me Goto-san… Drop the formality and call me Maki, ok?”

“H..Hai… Maki-san”

“That’s better! Ne~e, are you going to the music room?

“Yes, we will have a voice lesson and then some dance lessons for our new song in the afternoon.”

The elevator opened and the two went in.

“You sure have a busy day ahead of you… Ganbatte Kudasai!!”

“Arigatou! You too, do your best today!”

They both fell silent. And then the door opened on 5th floor. They stepped out and walked together to the recording room. Maki held Reina’s hand while they walked. Reina looked at Maki.

“Oh! I’m sorry” Maki quickly drooped Reina’s hand. “It’s just that I feel comfortable being with you.”

“I…It’s ok.. I was just surprised that you held my hands. I’m a no one compared to you.”

“Hey, don’t be like that. I would like it if we become friends. Friendship doesn’t choose anyone. It’s my decision… and no one can question that.”
Maki reassuringly smiled at Reina which in turn returned that smile. They stopped in front of the recording room.

“So, I’ll be going now. Good luck with your voice lessons!”
Maki pat Reina’s head before going inside the room.

“Thanks! Good luck too!” She managed to say before the door fully closed in front of her.

“Wow!!! My idol and I are officially close friends now… She’s not my acquaintance anymore… I’ll never forget this day.”

(More details! Douzo!)

I had nothing else to do here in the internet shop so I decided to post the next chapter already...

DISCLASIMER: I DO NOT OWN MORNING MUSUME. This is just a product of my imagination. For this chapter, I’m going to use some color coding.. Blue for Maki and Red for Reina. I got the name TOMA for goTO MAki and Reika for REIna tanaKA. The italicized words means that the character is talking to herself. Enjoy!

Chapter 3: Link to the Past
Reina: “Uhmm… Hello? Who are you?”
Her voice was somewhat shaky for fear that it’s a ghost she’s talking to.

Maki: “I…I’m…
“Should I give her my real name or not?”

“I’m Toma… You can call me Toma-chan if you like.. And you are?”

“You can call me Reika-chan.”
Reina used her old nickname that she used whenever she’s playing with her grandfather’s transceiver.

“So, Reika-chan.. Mind if I ask a little favor or something?”

“Ok, it’s all right with me”
“If I can help you with my current situation, that is.”

“Ano… is there a phone near you? Could you call some one to help me?”

“I’m sorry. My cell phone’s battery is already empty and I’m lost in this…ahhh...place! I’m searching for one too. All I found is this old transceiver… And then I heard your voice.”

“Is that so?... Well, thanks anyways…. By the way… did you bring a map or something? You should bring one so you will not get lost when you go to a foreign place.”

“Well, it’s kind of a SUDDEN when I got to this place.”
“There’s no reason to bring a map when you are in a familiar building.”
“And you? Why do you need help?”

“Uhhm…"
“She might freak out when I’ll tell her that I just got stuck on the 13th floor of our building with no other way out but a malfunctioning elevator. It’s better that I have someone to talk to than being all alone here.”
“I was stuck in a room here on a building. I overslept and my friends’ accidentally locked the door from the outside. I can’t go out. My friends already left for home.”

“Oh I see. Well, they’ll be back to save you for sure…Maybe… It will take sometime before they realize that they left you.”

“Thanks for the encouragement… Mind if you can talk to me for a while?”

“It’s better than being alone.”
“It’s ok with me. I’ll just stay in this place and let someone find me here. By the way, how old are you?”

“ I’m already 14 years old… How about you?”

“ I just turned 15, 2 days ago.”

“Wow! Belated happy birthday! So, you’re a year older than me. Should I call you onesan?”

“ No need for that. It’s just a one-year difference… Reika-chan is enough.”

“Hahaha… It’s just a joke… Hey, you know what. I don’t usually talk this much to my new friends or to strangers… But I feel like I’ve known you before.”

“Hey, you know what, that’s exactly how I feel about you… And I think, I’ve heard your voice somewhere before. I just can’t remember when or how.”

“Maybe she already saw me on the tv”
“Well, I hope that we can meet soon. I want to become your friend, if it’s ok?”

“It’s ok with me. I’m from Fukuoka but due to my work, I’m currently staying here in Tokyo.”

“Me too! I’m in Tokyo right now because I joined….. a group. I really like dancing and singing a lot and this group can help me develop my talents.”
“I wonder what will be her reaction if we met up and she saw that I’m a member of Morning Musume.”

“Wow… We have a lot in common. I love singing and dancing too and that’s my work. To sing and dance in front of many people… in the streets…We’re street performers.”
“What will be her reaction if she found out that Reika is really Reina Tanaka of Morning Musume.”

They both heard the elevator stooped and opened.

“Ano, it’s fun talking to you… but… my friends are already here. I think I’m saved now.”

“Well, me too. I can see someone walking towards my direction. I think I can ask his help.”

“Ok, kiotsukete kudasai! I hope we can talk again sometime, Reika-chan.”

“Hai! And Toma-chan… Next time don’t oversleep so you won’t get locked up again… Ja!”

“Sure I won’t.. Thanks for the advice… Ja ne!”

They put down the receiver and run towards the elevator. When they pressed the ground floor button, the elevator moved downwards with out any hassle. When they arrived at the ground floor, they noticed that the sun had already set and the time is already 7pm. They went home, still bothered by the strange events that happened in that floor.

“I hope I can see her in the near future”

“I feel like I’ve already saw her before… I really wish I could see her someday”

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN MORNING MUSUME. It's just pure fiction...

Chapter 2: In to the future
November 13, 1999; Saturday 3:30 pm
“Maki-san, wanna come and join us for some shopping spree now?” Yuuko Nakazawa, the tough and fierce looking leader of Morning Musume asked the new comer after their rehearsal for Love Machine.

“Gomen ne, Nakazawa-senpai. I’m planning to go home early today. I’m going to help my mother cook dinner tonight.”

“Awww…” Abe-san, the face of Morning Musume interrupted. “I was looking forward to spend some time with the whole group.”

“I’m really sorry. I’ll make it up to you next time, I promise.” Maki bowed before as an act to say sorry.

“No, need to be formal. I hope you can let us taste some of your cuisine one time, Ja! We’ll be going now!”

“Hai, kiotsukete kudasai!”

Maki quickly packed her things and ran to the elevator. She went inside and pressed the down button nut the elevator did the opposite; it moved upwards. Maki, being the calm girl as she was, just shrug it off but somehow became disturbed when the elevator stopped at the 13th floor.

“I thought this building doesn’t have a 13th floor?”

As the door opened, it revealed a dim-lighted floor. No matter how many times she pushed the close button, it wouldn’t budge. She had no choice but to get out of the elevator and search for another way out. As she was searching, she heard the elevator shut and moved downwards. She continued her search for the exit.

After a couple of minutes of walking, she found a door, the only door in that floor. She opened it and found a dusty table with a radio transceiver on top of it.

“Maybe I can use it to find help. I just hope it’s still working”

She found the switch and turned it on. It suddenly emitted some static noises… It worked. She grasped the receiver and…

“Hello?... Hello? Is someone there?”

She hoped that someone will answer her call.

“He… Hello?”

Chapter 1: The 13th Floor
November 13, 2004; Saturday 3:30 p.m
Morning Musume has just finished taping their of Haro Moni episode for next week. It’s still early for that day, around 3:30 pm so some of the members decided to have fun.

“Reina!!!” Sayumi creamed on top of her lungs to the retreating girl. “Aren’t you coming with us?”

Reina looked back at them and said, “I’m sorry. I’m not in the mood today to have fun. I’m tired and I just want to sleep as soon as possible.”

“Hahaha!! You’re becoming an old lady now, are you?” Eri made fun of her friend and Sayu even joined her at laughing. “Don’t worry, we’ll buy some sweater for the winter. We don’t want our Obachan to freeze in the cold.”

“BAKA! I want to sleep, that’s all. Just enjoy yourselves at your shopping spree and don’t disturb me, got it? We’ve been up from 7am to rehearse our song and tape Haro Moni.””

“Hai… Hai… So, We’ll be going now. I’ll buy you some vitamins so you will not feel tired faster.Well then, we’re going now! Ja!” Shige and Eri went out of their dressing room and left Reina alone.

“Ja ne!”
“Peace at last”

Reina packed her things quickly and head out to the door. She arrived at the elevator and pressed the button. It took a while for it to arrive and surprisingly, there’s no one inside. She went inside, pressed the ground floor button and the door closed. Although she’s supposed to be going down, she felt the elevator moved up.

“What the!?! Is it broken or what?” She stayed calm although inside, she’s already panicking.

Their studio is located at the 5th floor of that building.
8……9…….10…..

The elevator kept moving upwards till…
11…….12……13……….
Reina felt the elevator moved downwards a little bit and stopped at the 13th floor. Reina’s heart was beating very fast as the door opened and revealed a dim-lighted barren place.

“Ok…I thought this building’s architecture is based on western type buildings? If it is, there shouldn’t be a 13th floor. The 14th floor must be next after the 12th floor.”
Reina repeatedly pushed the close button or the ground floor button. She also tried the emergency button but nothing happened. The elevator seemed stuck in that floor.

“This is REALLY freaking me out! If I discovered that someone’s playing trick on me, that parson must be prepared to face my wrath!”

Reina thought about the fire exit. She was glad she had a flashlight in her bag that time. The dim light from that floor was not enough to see the end of that place. She opened her flashlight, and set out to find the fire exit. As soon as she was 20 steps away from the elevator she heard it close and before she knew it, the elevator moved down. Reina ran back as fast as she could and pressed the button repeatedly but it wouldn’t open. She had no choice but to return to her search for the fire exit.

There were no other rooms in that floor… Except for one... She hoped that this is the door of the fire exit that she’s been looking for. When she opened the door, she saw a small room with a dusty table in the middle. On top of that table, there was a radio transceiver; an IC ICOM--M502 VHF Marine Radio. She knew it because her grandfather used to own one when she was still a kid. She dusted it off and then…

“Hello?.... Hello?” Is someone there?”

Reina was surprised that the machine suddenly worked. She’s thinking whether to answer or not. She reached out her hand and…

“He...Hello?”
